The Story Behind My Lawn Sign

Many years ago my grandfather, Antonio Mancini opened a "True Value" hardware store in Olneyville Square, Providence.  He had six (6) brothers that followed suit opening "True Value" hardware stores throughout Rhode Island. His brother Joe, who initially opened a hardware store in Silver Lake, opened a second store on Tower Hill Road in North Kingstown in 1964.  J. Mancini Hardware was a staple in North Kingstown for more than forty (40) years.

Uncle Joe was a great guy. He knew the value of hard work, integrity, and fairness. He also always had a smile on his face and was a pleasure to be around. As a tribute to my late great Uncle Joe, I designed my sign to mimic the sign that hung outside his store for all those years.

Although the colors are different, for those that remember, this sign has the same "MANCINI" wave across the top, "True Leadership" is inserted instead of "True Value", and the store sign said "Since 1964" whereas my sign says "Since 1962"--my birth year.
